While presenting the Budget 2018, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that 8 crore poor women would be provided with free LPG connections. He also announced that women's contribution to EPF will be reduced to 8% for first three years and that loans to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) increased to about ₹42,500 crore in 2016-17, growing 37% over previous year.

Govt to set up ₹2,000 cr fund for development of agri market Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that Agri-Market Development Fund with a corpus of ₹2,000 crore will be set up for developing agricultural markets. The government will develop 22,000 Gramin Agricultural Markets. He further added that agricultural exports have a potential of $100 billion as against real estate with $30 billion potential.
